Cookie Policy

Most cookies and local storage we use are strictly necessary for the app to function. The only exception is an optional, consent-based analytics cookie.

What we store and why

Authentication token (Supabase)

Required to maintain your logged-in session. Deleting it will sign you out.

Local storage of diary entries, settings, and preferences for offline-first functionality.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Bot protection on some of our forms (the free question to Mona, the contact form, the newsletter sign-up, and the questionnaire and gift-code redemption on the website). To tell people from bots, it checks technical signals such as the IP address and browser details. It is not used for advertising or to identify anyone. Details in the Privacy Policy.

Product & site analytics (PostHog)

Pseudonymous, consent-based analytics on the marketing site and in the app (which pages/features are used). On the marketing site it starts only after you accept cookies, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. In the app and the web app it is set separately, with the in-app consent: Profile → Data & Privacy → Send usage statistics.

What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files stored by your web browser on your device. Menoup primarily uses AsyncStorage and the browser's localStorage — technically not cookies, but they serve a similar purpose: storing data locally for the app to function.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services: • Supabase (EU, Frankfurt) — database and authentication • Anthropic Claude — AI analysis (sets no cookies) • Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection • Resend — transactional email (sets no cookies) • Pexels — recipe images (sets no cookies) These providers process data under their own privacy policies.

How to delete cookies

On this website: the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the page reopens the cookie banner. Choosing “Essential only” there withdraws your analytics consent and removes the analytics cookies. In a browser: Settings → Privacy → Clear cookies In the iOS app: Profile → Data & Privacy → Clear All Data In the Android app: Profile → Data & Privacy → Clear All Data Note: deleting necessary cookies will sign you out, and any unsynced offline-first data may be lost.

Policy changes

We may update this cookie policy from time to time. In case of significant changes, we will notify you within the app. Last updated: 12 October 2026.
